In Portland..

Portlandia. Just finished the first season, and I found it to be rather amazing. The music that plays at the credits got me at the start, the design and cinematography was very slick.. though neither of those things could carry shit content.

Some of the sketches were a bit grating and hard to watch, though in a sense that’s part of the brilliance. It’s a very out there show, quite astute and then ludicrous the way a lot of parody works. At six episodes and not much more than a couple hours for the entire first season it goes by rather quickly.

Intellipoint fail

I’ve had a Microsoft Explorer Mini mouse for a while now, and it does work a treat. It tracks well, feels good in the hand, and it looks decent to boot. After using the included Intellipoint software for a long while, I removed it today to find that I’m much better off without them.

Even though the mouse has five buttons, while using the Intellipoint software it was only ever possible to use three of them in games. Yes, Intellipoint does offer macros, though for whatever reason you cannot select the mouse 4 and mouse 5 buttons to be.. mouse 4 or mouse 5. No Intellipoint, and I get mouse 4 and 5 buttons back for Skyrim. Silly? Yes. It works, though.

The Corporation

The Corporation is, first of all, a rather long movie. Drink some coffee or tea beforehand, or you may not make it. With that said, it’s well worth the adventure, and is required reading for those at all interested in the subject. It starts at the beginning, and speaks well to the organizations of power and control both within the US and around the world.
